Senior Accountant

Location: Irvine, CA

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: Up to $80,000 annually, depending on experience

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional looking to take the next step in their career with the opportunity for future growth into an Accounting Manager position. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, and helping drive process improvements across the accounting function.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Analyze financial data and investigate variances.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
• Assist with external audits and tax preparation.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Review AP, AR, and payroll transactions for accuracy.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
• Partner with department leaders on financial and operational initiatives.
• Mentor and assist junior accounting staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-5+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP/accounting software.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
